Community Briefings: Greater Cambridge Development Corporation Consultation
The government is consulting on plans to establish a new way to plan, fund and deliver major infrastructure for Greater Cambridge. Why is this necessary? We have an incredibly successful, and fast-growing global city on our door step. Investment and delivery in necessary infrastructure – physical, social and green – has not kept pace. Our villages and towns and city’s continued success is exposed to significant constraints in its infrastructure and impacts on the already stressed water and natural environment need to be resolved.
The government’s proposal is to create a centrally led ‘Development Corporation’ for Greater Cambridge, which would be tasked to deliver more affordable housing, better and connected public transport and improved blue and green spaces, and local amenities.
Representatives from the Ministry for Housing, Communities and Local Government is hosting two webinars to talk residents through their proposals and how to have your say via their online consultation portal.
